Under Moonlight

A couple nights ago, I looked out the window and saw this…

Then, of course, I had to re-make my MySpace page around it.

It’s only slightly enhanced. Just increased the contrast is all. Seems like the perfect next painting project.

I don’t know why I haven’t painted again. I have all the supplies, just not the motivation. Maybe my power will go off for a few hours soon and I will paint by sunlight.

I’ve been trying to listen to my play list on MySpace while I write this…but it keeps stopping because of in-myspace-music-player ads…what’s that about?

I was at work when I thought about writing in here again, and it feels like I had more to say then. I’m not sure what’s happened in the mean time. Nothing really. Ate some food. Played some games.

I just looked up lyrics to a song I really like, Siberian – Islands Forever, and I could only find one web page with lyrics, and they were horribly wrong. I took a few minutes to submit corrections.

On the coastline, under moonlight
We’ll drive our cars into the lake and drown

That collar, it suits you,
It makes you look like you’ve got it together

Why do you hold me up so high?
I’m the last one you should look up to

I saw your name in the paper,
They can’t translate all of your love

We’re sorry that you couldn’t come,
but it’s a full ride from here to California

Why do you hold me up so high?
I’m the last one you should look up to

You al…
You alway…

You always push me all around boy
And you say that you’ll change your life

We’ll be just like two birds on a wire

Have been wanting to try my hand at painting for some time now. So…last night I went out bought paint, brushes, canvas, and a paint palette. This is the first time I’ve painted, aside from using Crayola watercolor in grade school.

Click for full res.

I’m pretty excited to do another one. I learned a lot while doing this one so hopefully I’ll be able to paint something nicer next time.

Used Cars

It’s October, so that means it’s time for eerie commercials. Last week a client wanted to show that they weren’t another “scary” car dealer. They wanted a haunted house with cars on it with spooky music to show that they weren’t as the such. Here’s what I gave them.

Original photo from Google.

After I Photoshopped it.

And then I took it into After Effects.

And…a screenshot of the video.

What’d they put in the water?

I was given the task of creating a commercial with the theme of old Italy. This is just the ending graphic, with spare room for extra information.

Went to Café Moxo last night and listened to PJ Summers Band. Jeff and I enjoyed the signature drink: Two shots of espresso topped with ice cream, shaved chocolate and a shot of whipped cream.

Nathan grotesquely attacked a sandwich.

There was a guy sitting a few chairs in front of us who looked like my brother. He was so convincing from the back that I had to text him to make sure it wasn’t him.

Sitting and listening to the band made me want to start playing guitar more regularly. I still strum on it quite a bit, but nothing serious. I’ve been slowly learning to play some classical pieces. I wouldn’t even mind finding some coffee houses to play and get booed at. Of course, my collection of songs to play would include some eLi.

It has to do with trees.

I like to float around MySpace and find new music. It started when I went to an artist I enjoyed, and clicked on a band they had in their top friends. And then clicked on a band they had in their top friends. And then clicked on a band they had in their top friends. And then click on a band they had in their top friends. And then clicked on a band they had in their top friends.

I’ve discovered quite a bit of different music that I enjoy.

Here’s how it went.
Discover America > Siberian > Fleet Foxes > The Cave Singers > BIG A little a > Colour Revolt > Professor Murder > Maybeshewill > Parts and Labor > Matt and Kim

Believe me, there’s more. With branches. Paths. Bends. And trunks.

I’ve actually went ahead and purchased full length albums of some of these groups.

I had the power to control time, but not anymore.

Friday night, Nathan and I went to Jeff’s house (he’s my boss) to watch some hockey games. Sometime during the evening, I stated that I had never seen any of the “Lord of the Rings” movies. Both of them sat silent and shocked. Time stood still. Jeff’s root beer float got flatter and Nathan’s Sonic burger got colder. After time started back up, they encouraged me to watch them. Jeff owned the second and third movie on DVD, but not the first one…strange. I went to Family Video the next day (Saturday) and rented the first one and watched it that afternoon. Then around 1am I started watching the second one. Sunday I slept in until almost 1pm, which was completely awesome. I felt a little burnt out on Lord of the Rings. I mean, it was awesome, but I had watched 6 hours of it the day before. It was 11pm and I wanted to go to bed, but since I had not even been up 12 hours yet, I wasn’t sleepy. I decided to just put in the third one and if I feel asleep, so be it. I didn’t fall asleep. And Jeff owned the extended version. And it was 3 and a half hours long. But it was marvelous. During the course of the second one I thought, “Why did I not see this in the theater?” I went into work Monday and Jeff asked me if I liked them. I gave him his answer by returning his 2 DVD’s by which he responded “You finished all of them?”

Yes. I did. I have watched the trilogy that is “The Lord of the Rings”.

And I am complete.

Fellow co-workers and I played Rock Band at a business expo to win money for a charity of our choice. It was the first time any of us had ever played it.

Was going through some folders on my computer and stumbled upon this video I made with the pc game The Movies. It was dated July ‘06. I need to install it on my new computer and see what I can come up with now.
